With 100% score – both me and Julia passed the Citizenship Test yesterday. Wooohoo! So, now it’s only a matter of time for us to get the new passports and finally become real-deal Ozzies.
The test wasn’t too difficult, but still requires some basic knowledge of Australian history and understanding on political and social structure.
Happy us

Went to a shopping town in Rouse Hill (10 minutes drive from us) yesterday, no particular plans, just wanted to have a short walk and let Matty hang out on their playgrounds. Which he did. Big time. Watch the pictures:
This playground is superb. The best we have even seen. Matty loves it.

Hm... look at him.. doing something suspicious...

Spider feet
Spinning the wheel

It all started slow...

Smashing fountains...

Accelerating...

Giving it a second thought (just to make parents think that everything is under control)

Ah... what the heck! It's playtime!

Hurry up!
Yeah! Aussie spring rocks!

Fun for everyone

Gotcha!

Mission Accomplished. Brave Australian soldier reports full surrender of Rouse Hill Shopping Town Square Fountains!
The dream has come true. Well, it has come true 3 months ago, but it’s only now that I have a chance to post about it. So, we made small DIY trip on the car. Julia planned and booked everything and we had an unforgettable adventure.
So, here’s the map of the route (blue line – way to Hobart, green line – way back to Sydney):

I won’t go into too much detail, just some general observations and a few pictures…
First thing that comes to mind – Tasmania is BEAUTIFUL. Tasmanian nature and wildlife just blows away anything we’ve seen so far. It’s like being in a huge wildlife park.
Second… Melbourne is cold, windy, busy, trendy and very inspiring. Architecture is beautiful. Feeling of style and art is in the air. We loved it.
Third
– Tasmanian roads are full of smashed mammals. Birds eat them.
Forth – mountain tracks in Tasmania are beautiful. We missed mountains of Kyrgyzstan until this trip. Not anymore.
Fifth – gotta love small towns. Maybe we’re fed up with urban (of you can use “Castle Hill” and “urban” together) live in Sydney, but for some some reason we enjoyed small towns the most.
ok, let’s take a look…

-
NIVA! Real russian NIVA, overtaking LandCruiser.

-
Inside the Spirit of Tasmania. Small, neat and versatile cabins.

Sir Matthew is having his breakie. (while watching cartoons)

Windy again. June means winter! Julia and Matt were both a little stumbled and happy.

-
From Tasman Highway (which actually just a small road) one can see and appriciate Tasmanian real estate.
-
-
Ok, we spent A LOT of time in the car, but it was such a fun!

This is how Tasmania is. Forests, grass, hills and nirvana.

Now take a look at Tasmanian mashrooms! One mashroom is enough for a good family meal.

So, what are YOU looking at!?

Check out this sign – if you hit a kangaroo your car would be smashed! Riiight…

Oyster farm. Best fresh oysters in Australia. And lobsters. And mussels. And a teddy-bear.

Pope Matthew The First. Visiting (and feeding) his fellow Australians.

It all looked like a short stroll.
-
-
The (not so)short stroll ended at a nice beach.

They are everywhere. Better get back on the road before dusk.

Matty is tired. Daddy is fine. Riiight.

Julia: “Let’s move to Melbourne”. Andrey: “No way, it’s freezing!”.

The sign was spot-on. Closer to dusk these beasts line-up near the road and wait for a yawner.
